HOUSE AND PET SITTING
Have you been putting off that hard-earned vacation because you've been too reluctant to leave your pets at home?
Or worse, booked the trip of your dreams only to realize the cost of pet care is just as expensive as your travel plans?
Quality pet care shouldn't be so hard to find or blow your budget!
That's where I come in. I'm Misti, a work-from-home researcher, writer, academic editor, and pet sitting nomad.
I provide high quality care at budget-friendly rates.
Instead of paying rent, I’ve been traveling across the U.S. for over a year by offering affordable or exchange-based (aka free!) pet sitting. This model allows me to do the job I love most—pet sitting—and since I live rent-free, I’m able to help pet parents who just can’t afford to keep paying high rates for pet care. This economy, am I right?!
Let me help you with your pet care needs, and you’ll receive high quality care informed by my 7+ years of pet care experience.

SERVICES AND FEES
SHORT TERM SITTING
I prefer to offer short-term pet sitting (less than 14 days), via Rover and offer very affordable rates. I can occasionally accept unpaid short-term bookings through THS, so feel free to reach out to discuss options and rates!
Starting at $35/day
LONG-TERM SITTING
I specialize in exchange-based, long-term house and pet sitting. In this model, instead of providing care for payment*, sitters exchange their pet care expertise in exchange for housing. I prefer to book long-term sits through THS, but feel free to reach out to discuss options!
Exchange-based (unpaid)
*Please note I only accept paid sits on major US holidays (but still at affordable rates!).

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Hi there! I’m Misti—a researcher, writer, and editor whose favorite job has always been pet sitting. I started walking dogs in Boston during grad school (shoutout to the summer of 2018, which will forever be remembered as the most fun, fit, and tan I’ve ever been). Back then, I was logging up to 17 miles a day, rain or shine, all while building a true love for working with animals.
Originally from Tennessee, I spent about a decade in Boston and St. Louis before deciding to follow my dream of becoming a nomad. Thanks to my remote job, I’m able to live life “on the run,” with no leases, no furniture to move, and no car! This lifestyle lets me offer affordable (often free!) pet-sitting services while traveling the U.S. I’m also working on paying off my grad school debt, and nomadic pet-sitting has already helped me pay off over $16,000!
I’m drawn to life in cities, preferably on the coast—because honestly, is there anything better than a good book on a sunny day while listening to the sound of the ocean?
I often find myself saying “Okay baby, I’ll be back in a couple hours, have a good day, I love you!” to dogs I just met like yesterday, arguing with vocal shepherds about why sitting outside in 0-degree weather is a bad idea, and wrangling my fair share of chaotic orange cats (oh but we gotta love 'em).
For me, pet sitting isn’t just a way to travel—it’s a way to build connections, spend time with amazing animals, and help people feel at ease while they’re away.
